MARBLE HERM
Date: first quarter of the 2nd century AD.
Description: Hermes symbolize the Greek god Hermes, who protected stonemasons, merchants, and travelers. The head of the presented herm has the image of a young man. The forehead has two horizontal wrinkles. The eyes are without marked pupils. Only the eyelids are implied. The front of the nose is battered. The mouth is small, slightly open. The face is wide, and the chin protrudes forward. The hair is shown with short locks.
