HISTORY OF

HISTORY OF "ARMIRA"

Discovery and Excavations:

The ancient villa "Armira" was discovered more than half a century ago during the construction of a dam. Excavations of the residence and its surroundings began in 1964 and continued until 1980. During this period, numerous interesting archaeological finds were uncovered, revealing many aspects of life during that era.

Restoration and Conservation:

In recent years, the ancient villa "Armira" has undergone restoration and conservation activities as part of efforts to preserve Bulgaria's cultural heritage. This site attracts the attention of tourists and archaeologists from around the world.

Architectural Features:

The villa is built in the style of Roman palaces, with a peristyle building and a large pool. Interestingly, there are over 20 rooms on the first floor alone, and the pool is open-air, with the water being heated by the sun's rays. These architectural elements reveal not only luxury but also advances in construction and lifestyle during that period.
