HEAD OF HERM - THEATRICAL MASK
Dating: first half of the 3rd century AD.
Description: The mask recreates Silen's face. The image is stylized. The forehead is
covered with wrinkles. The eyebrows are raised and the eyes are wide
open. The face is narrow. The front part of the nose is broken off. The
mouth is wide open and betrayed as in theatrical masks. The hair is
shown in tight locks.
