MARBLE COVERED CAPITAL

Date: second quarter of the 2nd century AD.
Description: The wall capital is decorated with two acanthus leaves at the lower ends. In the middle between them is a part of an Ionic cummerbund. Two volutes rise above. Two twisted ribbons are passed through their lower ends. Between them rises a stem, which unfolds into a soft acanthus at the upper end. A spiral ornament is sculpted on both sides of it.

Color:Marble - bluish in color.
Dimensions:height – 0.27 m; width at the upper end – 0.372 m.
